What are the best places to get physical stamps? What about electronic stamps? Now that I have passed the test and got my license number, it's time for the fun part...shopping

I got my stamp from PE Stamps! I got the blue case self-inking stamp. I remember shipping was super fast. I would order again from them in a heartbeat! Which I actually need to do, mainly because the issue I have with my stamp right now is that the name on my stamp doesn’t match my legal name any more. And I still need to get that sweet California bear stamp (with squaretaper LIT AF PE!!)!

YES! BEAR! BEAR! BEAR! ...Even though I don't stamp anything. But on the rare occasions I do, it's just an electronic stamp on CAD.
It's cool to have a rubber stamp though. I got my pre-inked stamp from Engineer Seals and rubber stamp from Acorn Sales. I use purple ink.

My stamps originally came from Engineer Seals when I was first licensed in 2010. However, I'd likely order from PE Stamps as I know the owner pretty well and we talk nearly daily. In all honesty, he is technically my boss and making stamps is a side business for him. He used to give discounts a few times a year to recent successful testers on the previous forum and might still have a discount continually going. After the board purchase, the communication with the new owners drove him away from advertising there. He can produce digital, pre-inked, embossed, rubber stamps and a few other options. On a side note, he's aware of the new forum option but hasn't decided if he'll participate here yet or not. He's waiting to find out how well it takes off from me.

I think I will be purchasing from PE Stamps from your recommendations and looking around. We produce a decent amount of letters that we still wet stamp, so will likely go with the pre-inked stamp. I don't expect to be stamping much, except for when my boss is out of the office or on vacation, since I am basically second in charge (weirdly enough). The old owner had the self-inking stamp and that thing was obnoxiously loud.
As for electronic stamps, which file format do you use? We typically are stamping on pdf files, so I don't know which I need. I will check with my boss/ might just go ahead and pay the extra 5 bucks to get the stamp in all file formats just in case, seems like a small fee to have the options if needed.

Nice to know you have a connection there! I also got my stamp from PE Stamps, and they called out the typo I made when I filled out the form, which is nice, since I probably would have missed that. Highly recommend. I got the self inking pocket stamp, and it is great.

I got my stamp from Acorn Sales. I went with them because I wanted a embosser that was pocketable and they have a pretty cool hybrid (pocket/desk) embosser for pretty cheap. Also they give free electronic stamp with every purchase which is really cool. Most places charge extra for that. I also really like that they sent me a proof before actually making the stamp. I have no idea if that's typical or not.
I will add that I've never used my stamp and probably never will. I work in manufacturing under the industrial exemption. I got my PE for the personal accomplishment. If I was stamping a lot of stuff, I'd probably get an ink stamp.

Here is where I went, I personally just liked their New York state seal the best of the options out there. I guess there is a fair amount they can customize their seals with fonts and embellishments as long as whatever criteria set by the state is met. Most states don't go into a lot of detail with the requirements. EngineerSeals.com

I got mine from PE Stamps as well. Very fast service. I've used it once, and will probably never use it again.

I just assumed it would look just like the example provided in the state board rules.

I don't know if that matters much to too many people, but it's something small that I noticed and made it harder to find one I liked.

For CA the board states: "The seal shall be of a design similar to those shown below..."
Mine is custom, I asked for some changes so mine is easily identifiable but the modifications aren't so extreme that it strays from the examples in the board rules (not that I stamp things anyway!).
Edit: I mean, the CA bear stamp is definitely NOT offered as an example in the board rules. But they're selling and using it anyway. Give it a few more years and it's going to be a certain, um, seven-pointed leaf!

I didn't know the owner was your boss. Our company purchases all our stamps from them.

Hello all. I hate to bring up an old post, but wondering what people's opinions are on ink color for stamps? Are there any pros and cons for different colors?

Hello all. I hate to bring up an old post, but wondering what people's opinions are on ink color for stamps? Are there any pros and cons for different colors? It's really up to your state - some will dictate what color you're allowed to use, others not. Double check your state's stamp requirements. Personally I just stick with black to be on the safe side - it's likely to be acceptable with most states and scans into the computer well.

Hello all. I hate to bring up an old post, but wondering what people's opinions are on ink color for stamps? Are there any pros and cons for different colors? I use purple stamp ink. It hasn't been an issue and makes it easy to find my sheets in a plan set. Also, it's just a pretty color.
