To continue good natured growth of the community, starting this thread for those that may wish to share where they're headed for work (or personally).
You may find yourself in the neighborhood of another member and a face to face (or eyeball) meeting could be arranged. We're not all that introverted, really.
I've met folks at conferences and after work for dinner / adult beverage in the past.
If I'm in your neck of the woods, I'll be sure to post about it here.

Italy is next on our destination list.
If anyone is traveling to Northern California, drop me a line!

Heading to the ATL next week, then PDX first week of August, followed by LAS for Labor Day. The only other trips planned are CMX (can you figure that one out?) in mid-September and tentatively College Station, TX in early December. And a couple more ATL trips to finish up the year to visit family. Going to try to hit up Tucson and Palm Springs next winter to visit family and friends respectively. Oh and I forgot potentially a weekender to Key Largo this fall.

Been through there far too often in the past. Welcome to the new forum area MP. Just received word that I'm tentatively headed to Dyess AFB (Abilene, TX) the last week of July for a day or two. Second week of August is a trip to the Kenai Peninsula for several STI tanks, then possibly back to Abilene for a post repair inspection.

I haven't been back since 2015 though, I'm sure it's changed a lot since then. I love Tucson, I've only been there once though.

Yes, I have a power systems research conference scheduled at TAMU in early December. Assuming everything works out to attend I'll have to get recs from you beforehand! I've actually never been to TX outside of the DFW airport. I have family in Tucson and the Tucson area so I've visited many times. Enjoyable in the wintertime. We've spent a lot of time offroading in the desert and done some hiking in the area. But it's way too hot there in the summer for this Northerner.

My husband and I went to visit Tucson during the summer and...oh boy. The first day, we kept walking around saying things like, "THIS IS AMAZING, THERE'S NO HUMIDITY HERE, WE'RE NOT EVEN SWEATING." (We were used to Texas, where it's super humid in the summer). Then the next day one of us got severely dehyrated and we learned our lesson.

I'm supposed to be traveling early tomorrow, but looks like my flight is scheduled right on top of this winter storm...does anyone know how long in advance airlines will cancel a flight for a winter storm warning? I'm staying in town the night before to avoid traveling when it's coming in, but I'd rather know NOW if it's going to be canceled so I am not stranded at the airport (I live about an hour away from it).

Depends on the storm and who you are flying with. Some airlines will make the call just minutes before boarding; others will make the call several hours before. Good luck and safe travels. For my travel, looks like I'm getting scheduled to be in Chicago (Abbott Park area) from the afternoon / evening of 2/2/23 to morning of 2/4/23.

My flight out of town was delayed by nearly 7 hours, but was able to make it to my destination (Mexico City). Have fun in Chicago!

Trip to the windy city has been cancelled. Client didn't have their paperwork in order, so it's been delayed at least a month.
Next confirmed & scheduled trip is California / Arizona (multiple stops) starting late February for 2-3 weeks.
