I feel like my posts were tolerated until I said that I had stopped my recurring payment. It didn't take too long to get banned after that.

Does it bother anyone else that they banned our accounts, and left all of the content that came from the banned accounts (aside from the slanderous last few messages of course)?

Yes, but OTOH, it's our own fault for engaging in posting such content. It wasn't like we were forced to post all that stuff. |

Yes, but OTOH, it's our own fault for engaging in posting such content. It wasn't like we were forced to post all that stuff. Some were banned for even liking those messages though, which is wild! I personally didn't copy/paste the thread with the business model in it, but got banned after saying I would no longer financially support a website that wasn't listening to privacy concerns from its users and removing long-term mods without warning. |

I was banned after posting a list of people that had previously been banned. So even acknowledging that the heavy handed moderating was occurring was enough for a ban.

I haven't been banned yet, but I am super surprised because I started the first thread complaining about making our old private content public. That seriously pisses me off. It's not visible now, but it probably still exists and the new owners seem to have no qualms using it for their personal gain. Maybev we can pursue some sort of class action suit against the conglomerate that bought EB?

Most websites terms of service give the site the ability to do whatever they want with the content posted on their platform. IF you could show that there was a different ToS under the previous owner, than maybe you could argue that old content is still bound to the old ToS. I'd argue that the effort might not be worth it, but maybe it is to some people. |
